Reflecting on the incredible work happening at Mission of Hope International (MOHI) highlights the deep impact of hope and transformation. Whether through leadership development, feeding programs, or community outreach, God is using this ministry to change lives. This week, we are excited to share some key updates and celebrate the unfolding impact.

Remembering the Poor

You, our friends and supporters, embody the mandate to "remember the poor" (Galatians 2:10), extending love and compassion through your generosity and prayers. Your faithfulness enables children in Haiti to receive a quality education—an opportunity that transforms lives and breaks the cycle of poverty.

At MOHI’s schools, students not only gain academic knowledge but also grow in character, faith, and hope for a brighter future. These children are empowered to pursue their God-given potential with access to daily meals, dedicated teachers, and a nurturing environment. Because of you, the next generation in Haiti is being equipped to lead, serve, and create lasting change in their communities.

A Powerful Leadership Seminar in the DR

This past week, MOHI hosted an impactful Leadership Seminar, welcoming over 50 pastors and church leaders for a time of training, encouragement, and equipping. Our guest speakers—Pastor Carlos Pereira, Pastor Dan Lee, Pastor Brad Raby, Rita Pereira, and Julie Raby—delivered inspiring messages focused on servant leadership, strengthening communities, and leading with integrity.

The seminar provided an incredible opportunity for leaders to connect, learn, and be refreshed in their calling. The feedback has already been overwhelmingly positive, with attendees sharing how they were challenged and encouraged to lead their churches and ministries with renewed vision.

Growth in Our Feeding Programs: START NOW & Hope Squad

MOHI continues to meet the urgent needs of children through our START NOW Early Chilhood Intervention Program and Hope Squad Program for school-aged children. This past week:

✅ Babies and toddlers in the START NOW program received essential meals and medical check-ups.

✅ We are seeing more mothers actively participating, learning about health, nutrition, and faith.

✅ The Hope Squad program is growing, with many children in need of sponsors to help provide daily meals, mentorship, and faith-based teachings.

Expanding the START NOW Program in Haiti

With many families fleeing Port-au-Prince due to gang violence, we have seen an increase in malnourished babies arriving in Grand Goâve. Many of these infants show severe signs of malnutrition, including orange hair, dry skin, swollen bellies, and fragile health.

MOHI has opened our START NOW program in Haiti to accommodate these vulnerable children. We are providing them with:

🍽️ Nutritious meals to restore health

🩺 Medical check-ups to monitor progress

🤲 A loving community of support

A Mission House for the Future

One of MOHI’s biggest projects this year is the purchase of the Mission House in Luperón, DR. This house has been a critical hub for our teams, volunteers, and ministry work, and securing a permanent home will ensure sustainability and long-term impact.

💰 Immediate Need: $80,000 by April 1st for the down payment.

🏡 Total Goal: $650,000 to complete the purchase and make necessary repairs.

🛠️ Teams needed this summer for construction and maintenance.

Building for the Future: Community Development & Medical Expansion

🔹 Second Apartment Building & Community Center – Construction is about 70% complete, with walls nearly ready for the roof! This facility will house seven families and provide a permanent space for Hope Squad activities, mentorship, and medical services.

🔹 Medical Outreach in the DR – Our community health promoter is serving over 200 patients per month, ensuring families in La Grua, Baraguana, and Cambiaso receive medical attention. Special thanks to Bless Back Worldwide for supporting this initiative!

🔹 Future Plans: Chickens & Eggs! – MOHI has plans to build a chicken coop to provide a sustainable source of protein-rich meals for children in our feeding programs. In the meantime, Pastor Lex is serious about growing food with which to feed the children!

Celebrating Progress: A New Van & More to Come!

🚐 A New Van for MOHI! Thanks to generous donations in November, we purchased a reliable van that has already been a game-changer for ministry operations.

✅ Safer & more efficient transportation for teams, supplies, and outreach.

✅ Huge savings on vehicle rentals and maintenance costs.

Mission Trips: Be Part of the Story

MOHI’s first open team of the year recently returned home from a fantastic experience in the DR! Whether you are a doctor, construction worker, teacher, business leader, or simply someone with a heart to serve, we have opportunities for you.
