Today's update is from Renée
We are in the midst of our very first Sun, Sea & Sisterhood women's retreat in the Dominican Republic, and what a time it has been!

Fifteen women have traveled from Haiti, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Tennessee to join us in this sacred space. Through the powerful messages shared by our keynote speakers, Melissa Lee and Dr. Carmen Teague, we have been deeply reminded of God's goodness and His call to live for HIM. The sessions so far—Then She Remembered, Gratitude, The Promise of the Storm, Surrender Control, Sabbath: Combating Anxiety—have stirred our hearts, bringing clarity, encouragement, and healing.

Beyond the teachings, the connections we’ve formed have been invaluable. As women, we often struggle with feelings of isolation, but here we have come to realize that we are not alone. “The retreat has created a space to allow for all of us to let down our facades and get real with some of the struggles we all face. We have listened, lifted each other up, and pointed each other towards Christ.” — Angie McCoy, Oak Ridge, TN.

One of the most beautiful elements of this retreat has been worship. Angie Sutton, who was a part of MOHI’s church in Grand-Goâve, Haiti, for ten years, has led us in worship alongside my daughter, Alexis. Their voices have carried us straight into the throne room of God, and every woman in attendance has poured her heart into worship. What a gift it has been! “The powerhouse of women disciples being built up and dispersed across the globe is incredible! Thanks to Angie S. for making us international!” — Brittany Haley.

Hands and Feet of Jesus
As part of our retreat, we visited La Grúa and Baraguana, where we helped feed babies and witnessed firsthand some of the work that Mission of Hope International has been doing. The experience was humbling. “It was a raw and heartbreaking reminder that resources are needed to feed each child—and how something as simple as a ‘drive-through meal’ or a ‘to-go coffee’ back home could provide for a child in need.” — Melissa Lee, Tulsa, OK.

We left with a renewed sense of purpose, reminded that even when the need feels overwhelming, God multiplies what we offer. “Even in my storm… But God! I so needed a time with girlfriends, praying, learning, serving, and laughing! Thank you!” — Carole-Ann Knechtel, Orange, MA.

Bless Back Business Academy
The Bless Back Business Academy continued its mission this past week with three impactful classes. Aquilina taught a session on Foundations for Business, while Bruno led the English and computer classes. These classes equip the people of Luperón with valuable skills, helping them build sustainable businesses and opening doors for greater economic stability. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” By providing education and training, we are empowering individuals to create brighter futures for themselves and their families.

Raising Funds for the Mission House in Luperón
We continue to raise funds to purchase the mission house in Luperón, Dominican Republic. So far, $16,250 has been raised toward this goal! This house is more than just a building—it represents stability for our missionaries, a place of rest for those serving, and a hub for ministry and outreach in the community. Every dollar given brings us closer to securing this space for the future. Your support is deeply appreciated if you feel led to be part of this mission. Celebrating 25 Years of MOHI in Haiti
Meanwhile, in Haiti, we have begun preparations for a major milestone—our 25-year anniversary! It is incredible to reflect on the journey that began a quarter-century ago when our family first flew into Haiti, not knowing all that God had in store. As we prepare for this celebration, we are reminded of Psalm 126:3, “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” Indeed, He has!

Encouragement and Strength in Worship
As always, the church in Grand-Goâve continues to be a place of refuge and renewal. The people of Haiti face many challenges, but they find unwavering strength in the Word of God and in worshiping Jesus together. Through Bible teaching and heartfelt praise, they are reminded of His faithfulness.

In both countries, seeing their resilience and joy in the midst of trials is an encouragement to us all. “For me, it’s the progress—seeing the church, seeing La Grúa thriving, but also seeing the extreme need elsewhere. The progress of the MOHI home and the wonderful things God is doing there is inspiring.” — Brittany Haley.

Feeding the Hungry
Many of you know feeding people is one of Lex’s greatest joys in life! By God’s continued provision and grace—and through the generosity of our many partners—we are able to feed babies and children five days a week. This is no small feat, and we are deeply grateful to every individual who contributes to making this possible. Each meal is not just food; it is love in action, nourishing both bodies and spirits.

The Importance of Medical and Dental Clinics
The medical and dental clinics at MOHI in Grand-Goâve serve as a lifeline to the community. Many in Haiti lack access to basic healthcare, and our clinics provide much-needed treatment, preventative care, and health education. Whether it’s a child receiving life-saving medication or a mother getting dental care for the first time, these services are a tangible expression of Christ’s love. Healing and hope go hand in hand.

The Value of Education
Education at MOHI is not just about learning facts—it’s about equipping young minds for a better future. For many families, having their children in school is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. An education opens doors to opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. As Proverbs 4:13 encourages us, “Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.” Through our schools, we are investing in the future of Haiti, raising up leaders who will make a difference in their communities and beyond.

The Heart of Our Partnership
We are beyond grateful for those who partner with MOHI—not simply as donors, but as encouragers, advisors, and co-laborers in the work of ministry. Your prayers, expertise, and wisdom strengthen us, and your ideas help shape the future of our programs. Whether you give, teach, share insight, or simply uplift us in prayer, you are an essential part of this mission. We cherish the relationships built over the years and are continually blessed by the way God works through His people to accomplish His purposes.

Thank You
None of this would be possible without you—our friends, partners, and prayer warriors. Your support allows us to continue this mission, bringing hope and transformation to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and beyond. We are grateful beyond words for your prayers, generosity, and willingness to share the work of MOHI with others. “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly!
