No More Babies

Celebrating Hope and Looking Ahead

It was wonderful to have so many friends of MOHI join us for our Celebration of Hope yesterday! Lex, Renée, and Taran shared reflections on the past year and offered a look ahead at the exciting work we’re planning for 2025. We also heard from Sue and Olga, both recent first-time visitors to the Dominican Republic with MOHI. We are grateful for the fellowship, prayers, and generosity that made this event a meaningful reminder of our shared commitment to serving and uplifting communities.

Our START NOW baby feeding program remains one of the most immediate, life-changing programs we offer. How exciting it was last night to see all 23 unsponsored babies become sponsored babies! We have NO babies left to be sponsored!!!! We are so grateful! Thank you to Luke and Sue for manning the most exciting table in the place!

As of last night's fundraising dinner, we have raised $54,000 toward our 2025 capital projects. God is so good. If you couldn't attend last night and would like to donate toward the capital projects, you can do so here.

We are so grateful for each person who came together to present this event. Thank you to Jordan and Tiffany for the coordination efforts! Jeff, Madona, Beatrice, Nancy, Cam-Suze, Neirida, Mdm. Maccen, and Chantal made the most delicious Kreyol cuisine imaginable. Thank you!!! Marie, Lisa, and Cassie made the loveliest dessert boxes for everyone. We so appreciate your hard work and creativity. Thank you!!!!

We were also deeply thankful to hold this year’s dinner at the Gardner CAC/Senior Center. Thank you Mike and Julie!!! This continued partnership has been a blessing, strengthening our ties to the Massachusetts community we’re honored to be part of and giving us a beautiful space to gather, share, and inspire as we look to the year ahead.

Celebration of Hope & Project Goals for 2025

This year, we shared four critical projects we’ll focus on in 2025, each designed to strengthen our ministry and help the communities we serve. These initiatives will support our programs in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, allowing us to maintain and expand our impact in these communities.

#1 - Haiti Deferred Maintenance Projects – $100,000

Maintaining our facilities in Haiti is essential to continue the work established so many years ago. The buildings, clinic, and schools represent the sweat, tears, and commitment of so many people, and we honor that legacy by ensuring they remain places of hope and opportunity. Despite the difficulties many organizations face, MOHI is committed to not only staying in Haiti but doing so with the same excellence we’ve always strived for.

#2 - Dominican Republic Community Development Projects – $180,000

Our work in the Dominican Republic focuses on partnering with local communities to meet critical needs in housing, clean water, and spiritual development. In La Grua, dozens of families displaced over a year ago are still without housing; we need to help them find stability in the coming year. In Baraguana, our clean water project will ensure that residents have access to safe water, shielded from potential interference or discrimination. And in Luperón, we’re helping the Haitian Church establish its own space, providing a place for worship and community where Haitians can proudly gather as equals in fellowship with their Dominican brothers and sisters.

#3 New Vans – $150,000

With an aging fleet, MOHI urgently needs two new 15-passenger vans to support the growing number of teams coming to serve alongside us. These vans will be vital for transporting food, supplies, and volunteers and will allow us to save on repair and rental costs, freeing up resources to invest back into our programs and communities.

#4 Annual Evangelistic Crusade – $40,000

This year, the Cristo Esperanza de Vida crusade marked our first partnership with local pastors to host such a powerful event, and it was indeed a testament to what God can accomplish when we come together as the body of Christ. With over 1,000 people attending, the crusade became a beacon of hope, uniting ministries from multiple countries to share the love of Christ and build lasting unity. Looking ahead, we’re excited to make this an annual event, strengthening the spiritual foundation of our communities, spreading hope, and bringing transformation for years to come.

For those who couldn’t attend the Celebration of Hope, we invite you to consider supporting these initiatives that will shape our work in 2025. Each contribution is a step toward a brighter, more resilient future for the communities we serve.

START NOW Early Childhood Intervention

The impact of this program goes beyond nutrition—it brings hope to mothers, offers community support, and creates connections that transcend borders. As one mother, Miribel Jean Louis, shared, “I want to say so much thanks for what you do for us. I ask God that he would allow you to keep supporting. I pray for you that God would give you work.”

Another mother, Saint Helen Belton, expressed, “Thank you for the favor you show us. Those who have come to spend time playing with our kids too, it means so much to me as a mom…Your presence to visit us gives me hope as a mother.” These words remind us of the profound difference MOHI supporters make each day.

Reflection and Gratitude

As we look ahead, I am reminded of Psalm 133:1: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” This verse speaks to the heart of our mission and the way each of us—whether on the ground or in prayerful support—works together as part of God’s plan to bring hope, healing, and transformation. We give thanks for every prayer, every gift, and every moment of support that makes this work possible.

Together, we walk in faith and service, shining God’s love on those most in need. To everyone who is part of this journey—thank you.
