Sunday, April 6, 2025 - [click here to support the continuing work at MOHI] Today's update is from Renée
As we approach a momentous milestone, Mission of Hope International (MOHI) is thrilled to celebrate 25 years of faithful ministry! Our celebration event on April 26th will be an evening to reflect on and celebrate all that God has done through MOHI’s efforts over the years. We are also excited to welcome some out-of-state guests who will be joining us for this joyous occasion. It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come, and we are filled with gratitude for each and every partner who has stepped up along the way. 💫
End of Term Exams and Easter Break in Haiti
As the school term winds down in Haiti, our students are finishing up their term exams and eagerly anticipating their Easter break. These exams represent the culmination of a lot of hard work, and we’re excited to see our students continue to grow in knowledge and character. We know that these young minds are the future of Haiti, and we are blessed to be part of their educational journey. May they take this break as a time to rest and reflect on all they've learned, preparing to return with renewed energy. 🙏

The Bless Back Business Academy: Empowering Women in Haiti
A bright highlight for us this year has been the continued success of the Bless Back Business Academy in Haiti. The women in this program (pictured below) have shown remarkable dedication. Each of them has received a loan, and I am proud to report that they have consistently paid it back on time— even adding an extra 5% for their own savings. This commitment demonstrates not only their responsibility but also their desire for financial stability and independence. These women have worked hard in business classes three days a week, and are also attending a basic computer operations class. These efforts have enabled them to advance to the second level of the program, and we are so proud of their progress! Their journey toward empowerment is a beautiful testament to what’s possible when women are given the tools to succeed. 💪📚

Healthcare in Haiti: Rising to the Challenge
In the face of immense challenges, MOHI continues to meet the healthcare needs of our community in Haiti. With the political unrest making access to Port-au-Prince nearly impossible, securing food and medical supplies has become even more difficult. However, by God’s provision, we were able to purchase a pallet of beans and oil to ship to Haiti, helping us sustain our feeding programs.

Our full-time medical team, which includes two doctors, two dentists, three nurses, a lab technician, and a dental assistant, continues to serve with dedication. We are committed to ensuring that every child, from babies to high school students, receives the nourishment and healthcare they need to thrive. Please join us in praying for the continued safety of our staff and the stability of the region. 🩺🌱

Exciting Radio Station Update: Spreading the Good News
Our radio station, Radio Tele-Pataj 106.3, continues to be an incredible tool for outreach. This week, we completed a remodel of the station, allowing us to serve our community even better. As Pastor Edon so beautifully stated, “We are passionate about communicating and sharing our message. We love reaching people through the internet and via our radio station, 106.3. We are committed to spreading the Good News to everyone, everywhere, before the return of Jesus.” Through the radio, we share everything from church services to civic education and teachings on how we should live as a community. Every day at noon, we gather for a prayer time, interceding for the needs of the people. With Easter approaching, we’re especially excited to be broadcasting a series on the seven declarations Jesus made on the cross, leading up to Easter Sunday. We are truly blessed to have this platform to spread the message of hope and salvation! 📻🎶

A Heart for Worship and Community
One of the things I miss most is hearing the women from the married women’s ministry sing on Sunday mornings. Their voices are full of joy and energy, and the whole church comes alive as they lift their voices in praise. There is something so powerful about music that brings the church together in worship, and it’s a sight I look forward to experiencing again one day. 🎤🎶

Business Academy in the Dominican Republic: A Growing Endeavor
In the Dominican Republic, the Bless Back Business Academy is also thriving. Every week, we hold classes in English, business, and computer skills at the mission house, and the smiles on the students’ faces are contagious. These students are working hard to grow in their knowledge and abilities, and we are excited to continue supporting them on this journey. Their dedication is inspiring, and it’s a blessing to see the positive impact this program is having on their lives. 🌍

Harvest Time in Luperón
It’s harvest time in Luperón, and we are filled with joy as we gather yucca root and sweet potatoes in abundance.

This harvest is a gift, and it’s providing much-needed food for our feeding programs. In fact, we were so excited about the harvest that we purchased another chest freezer to store all the produce!

We can’t wait to share these new varieties of food with our community, knowing that it will help nourish and sustain those we serve. 🍠🌾

An Exciting Opportunity: Mission House in the Dominican Republic
As we continue to grow and expand our mission in the Dominican Republic, we are working hard to secure the funds needed to purchase the mission house. The land acquisition process is complex, both here in the U.S. and abroad, but we are moving forward with faith and anticipation.
We have already raised $58,850 of the $80,000 needed for the closing costs, and we’re so grateful for the generosity of those who have supported this endeavor.
This property holds enormous potential for ministry, from housing mission teams to hosting medical clinics, leadership seminars, and vocational training programs. If you feel led to participate in this effort, we invite you to consider making a financial gift to help us secure this property for the future. Together, we can create a lasting impact that will continue to serve the community for generations to come. 🙌🏠
Gratitude for Our Partners
As we look back on the past 25 years, we are filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the countless individuals, churches, and organizations that have walked alongside us in this journey. It’s through the faithful prayers, support, and partnerships of so many that we have been able to accomplish what we have today. And as we look toward the future, we are excited to see what God will continue to do through MOHI, as we work together to impact lives and spread the love of Christ. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to this mission. May God bless each one of you, and may we continue to faithfully forward His Kingdom work. 🌟
